Nova Ritchie

NOVA is a Canadian fine artist and muralist whose work lives somewhere between realism and the surreal.

For more than 15 years, I’ve created everything from detailed original paintings to large-scale murals and competed in numerous live painting competitions. My work pulls from nature, human experience, symbolism, altered states, and the unknown.

I’ve never been particularly interested in fitting neatly into a style. For me, art has always been about curiosity and learning to trust whatever is trying to work through me at the time.

Every piece is an invitation to understand myself a little better, while bringing something into existence that someone else can adopt and, hopefully, feel a small piece of that magic for themselves. I don’t necessarily want to give the viewer the answer. I’d rather leave enough unexplained for them to find something of their own inside it.

Over the years, my work has found its way onto walls, into private collections, businesses, festivals, and public spaces across Canada and beyond.

This site is an evolving collection of that journey.
